The word 'religion' has a broader meaning than mere belief in the 'supernatural' and can be reconciled with the cultivation of reason and logic, creativity and art. Essentially, the word religion presupposes the presence of (1) a worldview, situating the individual in the Universe; (2) a space providing the possibility of communion with other individuals who perceive and feel in the same way; (3) a way, or practice, to realize religious values.
By presenting these characteristics, the SOCIEDADE PANTEÍSTA AYAHUASCA is not only a specific system of thought, a philosophy, in the sense of broadening the understanding of reality. Pantheism, cultivated within the Society's environment, involves an ethical position — a specific interest in the environment, considered sacred — a way of giving meaning to and revering the natural cycles through ceremonies and rituals, an intent to cultivate mystical experiences of union with the universal nature, that is, a set of activities precisely categorized by the use of the word 'religion'.
