THE PHARMACOLOGY OF AYAHUASCA
Contraindication:
In the ritualistic contexts evoked here, we consider it contraindicated to use Ayahuasca for people with schizoid and pre-psychotic personalities; neurotics with identity instability and high levels of anxiety (panic syndrome) as well as for users of drugs and psychoactive medications such as antidepressants or permanent inhibitors of monoamine oxidase such as: Tranylcypromine (Parnate, Stelapar), Phenelzine (Nardil), as well as antidepressants of dual effect such as Effexor and psycho-stimulants such as Ritalin. Only as a matter of prudence we do not recommend the use of Ayahuasca, except under special conditions, for pregnant women.
