AYAHUASCA AND ITS PHENOMENOLOGY
Typical Visions: the manifestation of the Condor
Condors prefer to live in the high mountains, to fly in the skies above the mountain ranges. They symbolize the highest elevation, above limitations and obstacles. They are, par excellence, the symbol of the transpersonal; they integrate the wisdom of those who have already died, of those who have no ego. They are the symbol of spiritual ascension, of communication with the spirits, with the subtle. The winged representation of Ayahuasca.
The condor is the symbol of creative power, the embodiment of perennial philosophy; its majestic flight points to the very process of life, of creative eternity, whose ever-living works are made of births and deaths. The eagle is a solar symbol, but the eye of the condor is the sun; it symbolizes the hidden light of the great void. It is the master of time, of thunder and lightning, of wisdom, of new vision, of prophecy, of illumination.
The condor is certainly the king of the heights but ultimately is a servant, a simple gardener, the instrument of the art of renewal, of cleansing and purification; new productions need new spaces, fertilized by the disintegration of the old, of the spirits of the dead. Wisdom, prudence, calm, ponderation, discretion, vision, intuition, prophecy, messenger of the divine — these are the attributes of the bird.
